When I was recruited as Sales Executive in PMI, the company was under performed during that time which was really challenging but yet it gave a good platform and career enhancement opportunity that really grow me up. I am able to turn around this company to profitable one within one and half years. That I would like to thanks the trust given by Kobay Management and my team members in Paradigm Metal Industries.

“The company is just a lifeless entity. It is the people that make it vibrant”
Recalling the time when I went through the final interview with the CEO, and among the many things that we discussed, he mentioned this, “anyone who practices politics will not last long in my organization.” At that very moment, I knew I was going to enjoy working in this Company. That was 20 years ago. It has been a long journey of ups and downs, earning and learning and there were moments I want to forget and also moments I will always cherish.
In all these years, I learned that academic qualifications, knowledge, experience, skills and abilities are important but they mean nothing, if one does not carry moral values that are God fearing. For me, to have a sense of ownership at work place is important. After all, we spend at least one third of our day at work. Why shouldn’t we take concern of that place like we do our home? Beside, for most of us, our main source of income comes from the Company we work for. The salary that we receive at the end of every month pays for the food on the table, our children’s education and our daily needs or even loans.
There is another thing that I would like to impart. It goes like this in Hokkien - “Ai Hoe Choe Lang. Mai Choe Hoe Lang.” It literally means that one should strive to be righteous and not to just please others. There are times when we are called to make important decisions. It is only proper that we make decisions that we truly believe that are right and that can benefit all or most. We do not want to make decisions that will make one or two happy even when we know that they are not the best decisions. This is biblical. I am taught to do things that are pleasing unto God and blessings will surely come to people around you. That is because when we do the right things, God who is never wrong will be pleased. And blessings and goodness will yield. I find this to be true.
A piece of advice for those who are in Sales and Marketing or Business Development – Successfully developing a new customer is just half the battle won. The bigger challenge is to ensure that the customer will continue to want to do business with you. If I were the customer, these are the things I look for. Firstly, I want my ‘point of contact’ to be responsive because “waiting is wasting”. Plans and schedules may fail. Thirdly, as Business Development personnel, you are representing your Company when you deal with the customer and you will represent the customer when you deal with in-house people. With the customer, you want to strike the best deal for your Company. With people in-house, you want them to produce products with quality that are in accordance to the customer’s requirement, at the same time ensuring the deliveries are on time. This is where Business Development can make the difference. You must act on behalf of both parties to sustain a long term customer-vendor relationship.
In conclusion, to those who aspire to build a career in Kobay Technology, I have this to tell you. In my 20 years with this Company, I have never once been paid late. Not even a day late! For me, to receive my salary promptly is crucial, especially during my earlier years when finance was tight. There were monthly dues to be paid and receiving my salary on time made a lot of difference. I hope this little confession would be able to tell you much about the philosophy of this Company.

“The Best Way to Predict the Future is to Create it”
I joined Paradigm Metal Industries Sdn. Bhd. as General Manager 6 years ago. It is a sheet metal fabrication Company, where the outward appearance is generic, and in house operation is under capacity. Typically I was very excited about this Company because I can see enormous opportunities for my career path where I think the business operation can be elevated further with no limitation. There are quite number of employees whom are very loyal and have been working for more than 15 years in this Company, continue to contribute and endure to keep Company growing.
The Company gives us an opportunity to exert our calibre and talent base on our interest. One of the lessons you could obtain from this Company is to expose your capabilities to lead and drive toward success. This is one of the main inducements for me to stay with Kobay – Precision Components Group, where my future can be shaped through my efforts and team work in the organization. I attempted and I made it to build strong business foundation, and gather all team in one vision and direction.
I continued my career advancement in Paradigm Precision Components Sdn. Bhd., a machining components shop to revamp the business and organization structure. The role of General Manager cum Vice President of Business Development is indeed a challenging role for me. Nonetheless I really like this job, because I reckon this is an opportunity to testify my leadership to steer and drive the Company on the road to success. The Company went through a very drastic and massive transformation from both business and manufacturing operations system perspectives. From solely a local player, now becoming a global player with its well known manufacturer of machining components.
“Believe You Can, and You’re Half Way There”
Do not expect what Company can reward you, in contrast what can you do to help the Company to achieve common goal and attain greater height. Kobay is a Company that emphasizes in business and operations performances. If you perform well, you will be rewarded. This is how I was promoted as Vice President of Precision Components group. The recent changes in Precision Components Group have sharpened external eyes on business and manufacturing accomplishments. The entire organization team members are very high in moral and excited of the Company performance, from a very generic to great performance. Believing in yourself is very imperative and will determine how far you can be and who you want to be.
“If You Want to Go Fast, Go Alone. If You Want to Go Far, Go Together”
Precision Components division is a Strategic Business group where the business and manufacturing operations is under diversifying and transforming. The recent success to extend its global footprint and customers penetration has strengthen Component Group of companies, Paradigm Precision Components and Paradigm Metal Industries in near future business expansion and becoming a worldwide one stop metal product engineering solution main player.
If you have passion, or you are a very ambitious and committed in your career growth path, come to join us to conquer the peak. If you like a challenging job, a fast moving Company like us is your right choice to become part of team member.
As quoted by Henry Ford “Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success”.
See you at the peak.

“Success doesn’t come to you … you go to it.”
I was initially nervous when I first started to join Paradigm Metal Industries Sdn. Bhd. in Jan 2009 as Senior Sales & Marketing Executive for having different experience background where I was from a trading Company and now to a fabrication Company. I have much progress and grow together with the Company for the past 6 years and today given the opportunity to be the Business Accounts Manager under Precision Components Group. I am grateful and value the trust as well as support given to me by the Management.
There were work challenges and road blocks along the way in this competitive market. There were times when I actually felt like giving up however I have been awe of the direction and the way the Management handled strategic plans effectively – I vow to work along the same lines. Great motivation shared during meetings and the one with the deepest impression I have till to date is the one from an African Proverb which reads:-
“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed …every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle …. When the sun comes up, you’d better start running!“
I was always being taught how to be a good Manager and one of the tests of leadership is the ability to recognize a problem before it becomes an emergency.
What is the recipe for successful achievement? To my mind there are just 4 essential ingredients: Choose a career you love, give it the best there is in you, seize your opportunities, and be a member of the team.
My advice to my fellow colleagues here; “Success doesn’t come to you … you go to it.”

"Success is not delivering a feature; Success is learning how to solve the customer's problem"
The best part of the job is lots of room for wannabe engineers to join the sector. Opportunities are most widespread in aircraft and component manufacturing, research and development, and space, satellite and weapons systems and knowing that hardware I have communicate extremely hard on this making it possible for United States to maintain its position as the world leader in Aerospace exploration.
The most important thing in pursuing any career is to do something that makes you happy and keeps you interested and excited.
One thing that I believe takes us a long time to realize is that we cannot go it alone. There are very few jobs where an individual can go off and work alone and accomplish great things. You will find that most time it is teamwork that helps you achieve great things. You will need to be able to work well with people, and at times this can prove to be the hardest part of the job. Most times engineers get so wrapped up in the technical side of their education in a pursuit of knowledge that the personal side is ignored.
